What does “CARA” Mean? The name “cara” is said to come from the Gaelic word for “friend.” However, the cosmopolitan mix of CARA people has thrown up alternative meanings. For instance, “cara” in Italian means “beloved” - and it fits well with CARA's caring ethos.
“Cara” in Russian means “cup” - again reflecting the place of hospitality that the CARA centre has become. In Spanish, “CARA” means “face” - and you'll see plenty of those at the popular CARA gatherings! |
